I really like the aspect of having a horse and cart you can take with you everywhere, for storage other than your rucksack. And you can switch between the towns once a season, if you get sick of/bored with one town. But you can also plant crops in Konohana, even if you live in Bluebell (you just have to travel between the two towns a couple of times a day, which is a bit tough at times, but I can tell you from experience that it's not undoable). If you're in Konohana you can only have so many animals (4 livestock and 2 chickens, I think), and if you're in Bluebell you only have so many squares for crops. My friend who has the 3DS version have said he's annoyed with having to choose between farming and livestock - and I know a lot of people have this problem as well - but I don't think it's that big of a deal. You do HAVE to cook, so if that isn't your thing, it could be a bit of a downer. So far as the actual game play, I think that it's a good game. I've heard the 3DS version tends to freeze up on occasion, but I couldn't tell you anything about that. The screen is a bit wider for the 3DS, so in that version you can see a bit more of the map, but I've heard it doesn't really have an impact on the gameplay. And, as I've read, the only difference between the two games (other than the same graphics but in 3D) is that the 3DS version has a Street Pass capability and a petting-your-pets mini game. I have the regular DS version (mostly because my shop didn't carry the 3DS version at the time I bought it), but I am very satisfied with it.
